‘COWBOY JACK’ JOHNSON- Live Music Producer/Entertainer

Born in Honolulu, Hawaii and raised as a well traveled ‘army brat’, Jack Johnson began his entertaining career while pursuing a college education.  He spent summers working fairs across the country as a card trick magician.  In the early seventies, he began playing guitar, harmonica, ukulele and singing in coffee houses and fairs up and down the coast of California.

Jack graduated from the University of California at San Diego with a bachelor’s

degree in Sociology.  He continued with his professional music career playing at theme parks; Sea World, Knott’s Berry Farm, Opryland, Magic Mountain, and honky-tonks in

Dallas/Ft Worth, Texas.

While working in Opryland in Nashville, Tennessee he was chosen out of 400 entertainers in the theme park to sing on The Grand Ole Opry in 1989.  After Porter Wagner introduced him, Jack sang “Truck Drivin’ Man” and a Hank Williams, Sr. song, “There’s a Tear in My Beer”.  With such a resounding response from the audience of 4,400 this inspiration drove Jack to put together a tribute band covering songs from Hank- the legendary pioneer of country music.

After performing for years in country bands and solo gigs covering blues, soft rock and island tunes, Jack has accumulated a roster of professional side musicians.  After gaining experience as an organized band leader he realized his dream.  ‘The Hank Show’ came into production in 1999 with authentic vintage 1940’s-50’s instruments, costumes and Jack’s natural singing style reminiscent of Hank Williams, Sr.  The show performed all over southern California, Branson, Missouri and Las Vegas, Nevada.

‘The Band In Black’ was formed in January, 2004 with the same vintage respect to the 1950’s-60’s music of Johnny Cash.  The show debuted at The Cask ‘n Cleaver in Fallbrook, CA and a week later, January 16 at Fiesta Henderson Casino, Las Vegas -packing both venues with standing room only.

‘Cowboy Jack’ performs solo with guitar and harmonica for events and is the singing cowboy at Rawhide Ranch in Bonsall, CA. Also, Cowboy Jack’s traditional country band ‘North County Cowboys’ entertains at various southern California special events.
